i've been asking wai ling [sis's best friend who is currently studying in melbourne] for advice on accomodation etc. and i guess i have not much of a choice cause rent in the city is more or less the same - its all v costly. quite decided on which one to stay already. though its one of the better ones but here's some warnings from wai ling:
"(the apartment) fire alarm gets triggered very easily. so if you plan to cook often, that may be an issue. heh. not only that, the wardrobe is IN the kitchen"

AND the thing is, i intend to cook almost all my meals. =x

foodwise... she says,
"cos meals on average costs about $7.50,so $10 for city pricing is considered reasonable" and ... "the food from food court is usually too salty or starchy so you end up being full cos you're sick of the food, not because it really fills u."

well, i guess that happens everywhere, even in singapore, right? ha.

i'm ready to book my traffic police practical test. there's still quite a long time before my test and omg, i'm feeling so scared already. what's going to happen on that day!

i'm glad that my friends are ever so nice and supportive. cause my sis is fund-raising for her CIP trip so they are selling donuts [outside central lib, the walkway there] this wed and thurs, i informed my friends to go and support. and they said no problem. bigger thanks to jeremiah who's buying more to bring home for his mummy. ohmy, i love my friends!

i've just renewed my passport. i'm so going to miss the TOOT passport photo on my old passport. not sure how to describe the photo. i thought my photo looked "raw" - if u know what raw means in this case.

UPDATES

i have lots to say... [don't read unless u have time to listen to me rant]

i just ended my mid-terms unoffically[cause there's still german]. LIKE FINALLY. ok, its prob too much of an exaggeration to say FINALLY. cause i had 3 papers which lasted for 2 days. HA, 2 days only. but trust me, its really mentally draining. basically because the papers were super crammed. last sat evening i had MLE [taking a paper on a weekend evening, can u believe it]. then today [monday] i had econs and maths. both in the evening. both at the same venue, for me. could just rot in MPSH 1 for hours u know.

i didn't have much time to prepare for the papers [with all the f1 race, tuition and driving lessons, i guess its understandable why i had no time]. went to sch early to chiong my last min revision for econs and maths this morning. and my day only ended at 9.30PM [pens down for maths]. wah, come to think about it, i actually spent around 14 hours in sch. totally shagged. but really grateful to seamus who drove me home. taking his car home was a real relief=D seamus kept making me laugh with his driving tips. he says that he park -whether vertical or parallel, by "FEEL". ... HAHAH, ok, so much for learning where's the sighting points for parking during my driving lessons (i'm currently learning parking, which means soon i can book my test. yay.)[talking about driving, i thought it was really a coincidence to meet john at the driving centre on friday.]

i feel disappointed about my econs paper [not saying that MLE and maths were ok]. the mcq wasn't easy. lots of manipulation for the calculation questions. tricky questions and answers. its like A)__________; B)_____________; C)_______________;D) B and C; E) all of the above. i was like WTH [haha ok, doesn't sound like me to say this. guess its a little too much influence from the guys and i just need to let some feelings out]. i'm not really feeling that bad as i may sound, just a little hmm... upset and frustrated. shall not fret over it. i'll just TRY to be positive.

i was looking forward to the end of today cause tmr i'm not going sch. wed's holiday. thurs - prob i'm self-declaring a holiday cause there's only 1hr maths and prob make-up for german. so back to sch on fri. HA, 2 sch days for me this week. but i realised that my german mid-term paper is next week. SO FAST. cannot have too long a break cause there's lots to study.

german is really getting v intensive. a friend of mine [who's learning french], said that what he's learning now in french is what he learnt in english during kindergarten. how true is that man. today i just learnt how to read the time on the clock in german. so difficult la. all the half-past six, 12.02, 17.56 crap. haha.

the f1 race was really cool. dad went down for the friday qualifying. my sis (and i) got him the grandstand ticket as his birthday present [he loves f1 u see, and it seems that i'm getting influenced too]. i didn't go - no time + no ticket. but i watched the telecast last night (the whole race). think that the race was really v exciting. how could someone miss seeing Raikkonen crashed during the final fourth lap and how the fueling hose (or whatever u call that) stuck to massa's ferrari when he moved off from the pit-stop. its so scary! and my sis and i realised that raikkonen is good-looking. hamilton's not bad too. hee.

tuesday
today was v hectic. after going toa payoh to get some stuff done, i had driving and oh my, driving was really bad today =( =( =( sigh, i guess some instructors really make me feel v lousy. i need encouragement, please.

and i had tuition later. my tutee is really v funny la.
Tutee: teacher, u still have any papers?
Me: yup got german next week.
Tutee: ok... if u do well, i'll buy u a lollipop.
Me: ..... erm, HAHA ok.

she's sec 4 (taking o levels soon) and she's really sweet. such a tutee really makes teaching tuition a joy.

yup, i'm happy today. =D =D =D

basically because lots of funny things happened today. plenty. would really love to share with others but i'll just go bursting out with laughter before i can speak anything intelligibly so i look crazy.

today was the dean's welcome session for nus foe. we sat together as an og and with shuyi's aj friends who were really nice=). shuyi sang this v funny song and i really laughed like crazy. then chongren's silly actions also made me laughed. etc. etc. etc. lots of other funny stuff. oh, and i saw jo! wanted to talk to her about some stuff but didn't have the chance.

went back to nj to collect the cert. met wh and then kc. couldn't play badminton with them today! but don't think i'll go even if i can make it cause its so far. and like what i say, carrying the badminton racket from my house to bukit gombak will make me look so silly. next time, u guys must come toa payoh or hougang to play! had a pretty long chat with them at the canteen. wh told us about his participation in ndp. v funny. he's in some bird float segment. HAHA. ok, that got me and kc laughing like crazy. and i told them about my driving. oh my, now come to think of it, i shouldn't have said so much, cause its v embarrassing. and wh actually said he will avoid the roads at yck. [apparently he was the second person who said that =x] eh hello, i'm such a cautious driver and even a bus driver [beside my car at a traffic light] encouraged me u know! i shall buck up for my driving so i won't be laughed at anymore! =/

met amelia + friend (choo ting) near the field (whatever that place is called, i forgot) and we talked bad about kahyan within that short period of time! haha, just joking la. we'll always love u, kahyan! oh, and i saw my junior, jinxian playing soccer at the field. oh my, he's like so free can. thought prelims' arriving in 3 weeks time. just want to wish my juniors all the best in their revision =D and wh's so kaypoh lor, kept asking about ________ & me. that's like so ... ... haha.

went for dinner with family at miyabi jap restaurant. great food. shall post the pictures another time.

oh, i need an icing bag, those kind for decorating cakes. i'm going to bake a cake for _________. haha, must be honoured! i need it urgently so if anyone has it, pls lend it to me!

i'm loving 萧敬腾 more! think he's v adorable. and of course talented. =D

potluck/night safari/driving lessons

cheesecake made by chongren was super nice. shuyi and i kept saying that it looked like those kind sold outside. $4.50/pc. YUMMY.

there was too much food already! everyone was SUPER FULL. anyway, it was nice hanging out with the company. eddie, khengsoon, kin loong and wenhao thought i went for chess camp cause they saw me. that's like so funny. and quite scary actually. they kept pestering me to show them _____'s photo. haha, better not, later that person scold me. and they told me something (after shuyi and i forced them to say cause they didn't want to initially) and i didn't know whether to be flattered or not. =/ the whole thing is making them curious and me curious too. !!!

Night safari

my sis's tw buddy is in singapore with her mum and bro. so we brought them out for dinner + night safari. oh my, night safari was cool. it was v dark and we didn't dare to walk around so we took the tram (which 90% of the people did). later we walked a trail where the tram stopped for us to alight. quite funny cause some of the tourists were scared too. this angmoh commented that it was "so 'jurassic park' ". HAHA. euphemia+family got us pineapple tarts from tw. oh man, i totally missed the tarts so much. [i ate like 2 in a go yesterday.]

DRIVING!!

first lesson was quite funny. started to drive round the circuit. all cars driven by first-timers had to have their hazard lights on. mine was switched on too. i can simply conclude that i was a hazard on the road circuit =/

i asked the instructor when i saw other cars in front with the hazard lights flashing: "are those first timers like me?"

instructor: haha yar.

me: ok, then i better beware of them.

instructor: haha, they better beware of u too.

anyway, the bumper of every car at the driving centre wrote (something like this):

i'm slow. please be patient with me.

i was lousy/slow on the circuit. i thought my sense of judgement was pretty bad. especially when it came to turns. sometimes i turn too early, sometimes i turn too late. then i always cannot return the steering wheel back in time. yes, i need to focus and cannot be a road hazard!

had my second lesson this morning. i still have lessons for the rest of the week. tired.

ok, my internet seems to working fine now. it doesn't get cut off but the connection seems to be not fully repaired. =x

i'm so shagged after running about to do all the stuff this morning. getting the modem fixed, helping my sis get her stuff and getting my lunch. and yesterday i just helped my parents fix the new furnitures. busy busy busy. no time for my driving lessons to be pushed forward. no time to go and try out my new oven (which is super COOL). no time to try out the dish i'm cooking for this sat's potluck. no time to clear the stuff at home.

just want to mention here about my theory driving lessons. [oh ya, i met qn at the centre. so coincidental. and she passed her btt - and i can claim lots of credit for that C= ] ok, theory lessons were FUNNY.

teacher/driving instructor (asks the class): what should u do if a car behind tailgates u and flashes high beam?
(the class was in the stoning mode so there's no response)
teacher: u must move to the left and let the vehicle pass. before that u must show the sign.
(the class started to laugh. cause everyone was thinking of something bad)
teacher: HAHA, i don't mean any bad sign! i mean, show the hand signal to let the vehicle pass.

teacher: if u see that there's a flood (puddle of water) in front, how would u know how deep is the puddle to ensure that it is safe to drive through?
(no response)
teacher: u let the car behind u to pass first. if they can drive through, that means u can pass through.
haha, so its like using others as guinea pigs.

oh my, hopefully i won't get this driving instructor for my upcoming driving lessons. later he teach me all the wrong things how!



i'm telling myself that everything's going to be over SOON. its no big deal. don't fret. as long as all is well, thank god. =D

and i'm loving myself more for being braver.
